Common Ground or ‘The Camperdown Project’ provides housing for long term homeless people and people on low incomes in the inner-city of Sydney.
On Tuesday 25 October Councillor Craig Chung and I were given a tour of Mission Australia’s fantastic facility.
A critical part of help that is made available to the people who live on site is through the ‘Common Ground Support Services’. These services provide individually tailored support that helps to make the transition into permanent accommodation much easier as well as helping each person become healthy and happy by ensuring they receive the right information and support to manage and maintain their home independently.
A fantastic initiative and certainly something that should be built on and expanded across the state.
