Virginia and I thoroughly enjoyed our panel discussion at Conversely, where we talked about coming out later in life. The money raise from ticket sales went to a couple of charities, Heart Research Australia and the Australia New Zealand Gynecological Oncology Group. Congratulations to our friend San who became a proud Australian citizen in a ceremony at Sydney Town Hall.
Monday the 16th of February
The Minister for Education, The Hon. Adrian Picolli, has announced that a re-elected Baird government will build a new comprehensive public high school in the inner City. The new school will be a huge asset to the growing number families who choose to live in the City of Sydney.
Wednesday the 18th of February
What an honour to meet Socceroos Coach Ange Postecoglou. I am looking forward to the Asian Cup Champions’ campaign to reach the World Cup Finals in Brazil in 2016.

Thursday the 19th of February
St Vincent’s Hospital has commemorated 30 years since the establishment of Ward 17 South, the first dedicated HIV/AIDS unit in Australia. Virginia and I were thrilled to meet medical staff and former patients from Ward 17 South and to support the hospital’s HIV Future Fund.
Friday the 20th of February
The Rainbow Flag is once again flying above Sydney Town Hall ahead of next month’s Mardi Gras parade. Virginia and I will be joining a large group of Liberals marching in this year’s parade, including the Honourable Don Harwin, President of the Legislative Council, and Bruce Notley-Smith, Member for Coogee. Let’s hope it doesn’t rain!

Sunday the 22nd of February
Sunday, February 22 was Mardi Gras Fair Day in Sydney. Fair Day brings together a whole range of community groups, service providers, retailers and eateries in Victoria Park. It’s always a great day out and gets everyone in the mood for the Mardi Gras Parade, which will happen this year on March 7.
CHINESE NEW YEAR RECEPTION
Thousands of Sydneysiders and some honoured guests, including the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Zhaoxu Ma, gathered to watch the annual Chinese New Year Parade down George Street. Happy Year of the Sheep.
